I often receive inquiries about the food I make for myself each week. Usually this is followed by said inquirer lamenting that he or she doesn’t have time to shop and cook meals at home. I get it. And I totally agree, it’s difficult.

One of the reasons I first became interested in nutrition was because of this notion that food can be healing. The idea that what we put into our bodies can have a direct link to our overall health and wellness. I suppose these days that sounds pretty obvious to most people, but before Whole Foods became so popular and wellness was such a buzzword, it didn’t seem so linear to me.
If you have been in Starbuck’s recently, you may have noticed that they launched a line of cold-pressed juices in partnership with the west coast company Evolution Fresh. It appears that they are trying to become competitors in the pressed juice marketplace alongside companies like BluePrint and Organic Avenue.
Given my love of all things green, particularly green juice, I had to give it a try.
If you are cruising through your local Whole Foods you may notice that many of the produce items have a numerical “ANDI” score and are tagged with the “Health Starts Here” signs. For a long time I didn’t pay attention to this until one day I took another look and realized that ANDI actually meant something and wasn’t Whole Foods just trying to tout their whole foodiness.
